Chemical Peel
The peel is an aesthetic medicine treatment that involves the application of a chemical substance on the skin. It performs several actions: it stimulates the exfoliation of dead surface cells from the stratum corneum, accelerates cellular regeneration and activates collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the skin by fibroblasts.
Peels are classified according to their depth of action in the skin.
Superficial peels - Usually give the skin more radiance and reduce mild skin hyperpigmentation.
Medium-deep peels - Recommended for acne scars, more intense hyperpigmentation and superficial wrinkles.
Deep peels - Act more deeply on pronounced wrinkles and more marked acne or other types of scars.
